Philip Chisholm is one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the north of England.

He has been photographing weddings since 1969 and has gained the ‘Portrait of the Year, and ‘Wedding Photographer of the Year’ (Northern Region) awards of the British institute of Professional Photographers.

The painstaking way that he prepares his work prior to your wedding ensures that he can achieve exquisite results with the minimum of disruption to your day.

Once you book Philip as your photographer, he will meet with you so that he can study your smiles, laughs and serious expressions, all of which he will aim to capture in your pictures. He will collate the name of your bridesmaids, ushers, best man, family members and friends. He will take great care to record your every wish ~ which friends and family groups you require to be photographed on what is so often such a rare occasion when they all come together and of course the style of photography that you prefer.

Philip attends only one wedding per day. He is intent on giving the fullest attention possible to each Brides and Groom.

After the event you will be presented with a bound book of proofs which you will keep. From these you, your family and friends will select those prints you wish to be included in your album which will admirably commemorate this most special occasion.

With every best wish for your future happiness together. Studio Tristan
Wedding Pictures from the camera of Philip Chisholm

Philip Chisholm
Philip now 54 has since 1969 photographed over 3040 weddings from some of the biggest society Dales weddings with 300 guests to the smallest registry office wedding of Lords and ladies with receptions back at the Manor with only four guests, though the majority of his camera work has been within his North Yorkshire home stead with a wedding at 1:30 at St Marks Church with 80 guests while amongst his many favourite locations he enjoys Grinkle Park, Rushpool Hall, Gisborough Hall, Dunsley Hall near Whitby or the resplendent Ampleforth Abbey in the National Park.

One of the greatest rewards for being a photographer of long standing is seeing the Daughter of past Brides coming through to be married, and while the style of photography has changed it is Philip charm, attention to detail and his ability to capture the day as it unfolds without dominating the Brides day, this, and his immense humour, coupled to the quality of his camera work, has won him many national awards throughout his career.
Philip is presently 'Managing Picture Editor for NewsPrints UK', looking after nearly 200 UK national and daily Newspaper images. Philip was asked why with such a high profile job does he "continue to photograph weddings, he said. "This is truly where I get the pleasure and reward for my photography, while spending a day on location with the most beautiful of Brides and their family, this then brings my hectic weekly deadline of schedules back into focus. I reckon it will only be when I am asked to photograph the Granddaughter of one of my original Brides that I may think about retiring, but then, will they let me?"
