Philip has been a professional photographer since
1969 and has gained the ‘Portrait of the Year, and ‘Wedding
Photographer of the Year" (Northern Region) awards of the
British
institute of Professional Photographers.
Photography is an art in it's own right and Philip Chisholm is
an
artist at the apex of his profession. A true professional in every
aspect of his work. No matter what kind of photography that is

ever possible, in depth preparation prior to the event to be
photographed, is always carried out. This enables Philip to produce
some
quite beautiful work. It also enables Philip to fulfill his obligation

after service. Almost all weddings and other media photography orientated
events will require further prints or photograph enlargements.
Philip is now one of the leading freelance photographers in the North
of England taking photographs for both the Music and Arts Press as
well as being the official photographer for the British Bandsman News
amongst others.

June 2005 Philip was appointed Managing Picture Editor of NewsPrints
UK.
NewsPrints manages the pictures for over 200 National Daily and Weekly
Newspapers this after an 18 months assignment in Covent Garden London
where he brought the digital assets of the UK Music industry archive
deposited with Visualeyes into an online picture database, with clients
such as Virgin Records, Universal Music and Sony EMI.

In August 2005 Philip was appointed Feature columnist for the UK PMA
magazine.

In 1996 Philip went back to College where he studied digital media
and in 1999 was principal consultant with DAS in creating the internet
marketing tool for the Newspaper industry 'Photo Order Press', this
is now used by, Trinity Mirror, NewsQuest, NEP, Champion, Johnston
Press Newspapers and Clyde and Forth Press group as well as 42 UK
Professional photographic labs with 2900 photographers using the resource
daily.

Founded Studio Tristan Photography in 1973. Principal photographer
at weekends where to date having photographed over 3000 Weddings.
For 25 years Philip worked as a photographer in the music industry
as a free lance and for the BBC
Media skills
In 2000 Philip launched the monthly revue On The Chisholm trail.
Principally about the marketing opportunities within the photographic
industry and digital photography in particular. The Revue as well
has having over 3000 email subscribers his articles have been published
in New Zealand, Canada and the USA and within Panorama and The Photographer
in the UK.

Family & Music.
Married to Helen a teacher, two children James LLB(HONS) and Kate
BMus.(HONS)MA(Comp)BEd. The whole family play in a brass band, Phil
Tuba and Helen Trombone for Marske Silver Band.
Award
In 2001 Philip was awarded the Gold Medal by the King of Sweden for
his services to music. Philip was the British Bandsman Newspaper Photographer
from1986-2003
Youth
Head Boy of his School, Philip 6 foot seven inches tall Captained
the Rugby and Swimming team culminating in the school winning the
Teesside Victor Ludaurum Shield 1969.
Life saving, Philip gained the highest Distinction Award for Life
saving at 16 years old as a lifeguard on Redcar Beach during summer
vacations. Philip went on to serve on the RNLI shore crew launching
and recovering Redcar's Oakley Lifeboat The boat house being behind
his Redcar High Street Studio.

Foundation secretary to the Zetland Lifeboat Museum and digital cataloguing
of the image archive collection. The Zetland life boat was 200 years
old in 2002 and saved 500 lives in service. The museum presently has
over forty thousand visitors a year.
Boy Scout
Boy Scout through to Scout Leader 1960-80 culminating in the 1980
Summer Camp where the troop was awarded a Distinction Award for Summer
camp and training by Yorkshires District Commissioner.
